Peter Lawson of Remington Gold was the most successful angler landing 13 fish over the two day event and amassing 45.1 points for his team. The average weight of his catch was 3.47kgs. Boetie O'Neill of Africom Charter X managed second place with 42.3 points and Deane Le Roux also from Remington Gold was third with a catch of 38.5kgs.

Karl Eckard of Team Nissan landed an impressive 8.6kg tiger on day 2 of the tournament which gave him the bragging rights for the biggest fish of the event. Ewan Macmillan caught a 7.4kg fish and Deane Le Roux had the third largest fish in the tournament of 7.0kgs.

Anglers Grimwood Cooke, David Brain, Ben MacMaster, Adam Humphreys and David Harwin of ULTC Team Burn were the only team of the tournament to reach the catch limit of 40 fish. The team finished 5th overall with 92.3 points. The rules of the event are such that teams are not permitted to weigh in more than 20 fish per day.
The first day of the competition was considered tough for teams to reach their 20 fish limit but by the early afternoon of day two, it had proved itself to be a challenge. We look forward to seeing if any team has been able to close the gap between themselves and Remington Gold who held a convincing lead after the first day.
Photographs of the fishing have been posted on the site and can be viewed by following this link...
The Captains meeting was held at the longbar this afternoon with all teams reporting concern with the fishing. There is little doubt that the anglers are doing little less that sizing one another up as the tension for tomorrow mornings 6AM start builds.
Tournament Director Rod Bennett held the traditional team auction after a welcome from the KITFT Chairman Roger MacDonald and a Pre-Tournament Briefing with 20% of the money raised being donated to the Gache Gache Anti Poaching Initiative. Interestingly the team who received the highest bid at the auction was the 50th Tournaments Champions Remington Gold.
